Deer Creek, by Sheryl Knight Fine Art, is an autumn scene of a creek that runs in the northern Sierras near Lassen National Park. In the fall the color of the aspen trees against the dark evergreens is striking, and the rushing water below is beautiful. The inspiration for this painting is actually the knotty wood frame that I found in a small shop in the area in a town called Chester, CA. It was hand made by a local craftsman and was most unusual. It was an odd size so I had to have the canvas custom made to fit the frame. Together they make a great mountain scene for a cabin or western style home.
