Sierra Morning is an original oil painting by Sheryl Knight. It is one of my favorite places in the Eastern Sierras. Early in the morning at sunrise the mountains just outside of Bishop, CA, turn a beautiful red, but only for about 15 minutes and then the light is gone. I love capturing this on canvas with my paint, but due the short time of the scene it has to be a studio painting vs. plein air.
