I just returned from a week of painting in the beautiful Santa Cruz area for the Los Gatos Plein Air Festival.  About 30+ artists were juried in from all over the country to paint here.  My first painting was of the Elhorn Slough near Moss Landing.  The finished painting “Morning Calm” is on the right next to the photo of the scene.

We were fortunate to stay in a cabin in the redwoods near Boulder Creek, and one morning I painted the redwood trees from the deck of the cabin.  You can see my set up in the first photo and the finished painting in the second which I called “Sunlit Redwoods”.  It was a great week.  I went with my friend and painting buddy, Linda Mutti, who also painted in the festival.
