morning-cypress-sheryl-knight-16-x-9This painting was started while painting with a group of friends, but finished in my studio.  It is a scene from Pt. Lobos State Park near Carmel that I have painted on location before.  I love these cypress trees and the rocky cliff that they grow on with the view of the ocean beyond.  It is one of my favorites.

When the painting was finished I ordered a custom frame, a moulding I had used before, since it was an odd size (16×9).  When the frame arrived it wasn’t what I had ordered.  However, it was even perfect on the painting, even better than the one I had ordered!   I called Omega who I had ordered the frame from and sent them a photo.  They didn’t know what moulding it was and had not seen it before.  Amazing, right!   So I delivered it to my gallery in Claremont, CA (Hillside Fine Art) and Steve Harrison, the owner,  sold it in a week.  You know how it is….sometimes you just have a feeling about a certain painting and you almost want to keep it!  This was one of those!
