Cypress at Sunset

Cypress at Sunset is an oil painting of the tall cypress trees in Monterey at the twilight hour as the sun was setting over the bay. As is typical of this area in Central California (near Carmel) the fog is setting over the water in the background ready to roll in at night.  The trees here are beautiful and unique to the area, and they are always a joy to paint.  The colors in the ocean vary constantly as do the colors in the rocks.
